How I Lost 30kg After Four Pregnancies: My Honest Journey

This isn't a miracle story. It's the real, messy, beautiful truth about how I transformed my body after four children—and why I believe you can too.

The Breaking Point

I remember the exact moment I decided things had to change. I was chasing my toddler at the playground, and I couldn't keep up. Not because he was fast—because I was exhausted. I sat down on a bench, breathing heavily, and watched other moms running around with their kids. I felt like a spectator in my own life.

After four pregnancies in six years, my body didn't feel like mine anymore. I'd gained weight with each child and never fully lost it. I was tired all the time. My clothes didn't fit. Looking in the mirror made me want to cry. But more than the physical stuff—I'd lost myself. The energetic, confident woman I used to be had disappeared somewhere between sleepless nights and endless diaper changes.

What Didn't Work

Let me save you some time and money by sharing what I tried that didn't work:

Crash diets: I lost weight, then gained it all back plus more. Every. Single. Time. The cycle was exhausting and demoralizing.

Expensive gym memberships: I went twice, then life happened. The guilt of paying for something I wasn't using made me feel worse.

Extreme workout programs: With four kids, I didn't have 90 minutes a day for intense exercise. When I tried, I burned out within weeks.

Comparing myself to fitness influencers: They had personal chefs, nannies, and professional photographers. I had a stained t-shirt and exactly seven minutes before someone needed me.

The Turning Point

Everything changed when I stopped looking for a quick fix and started looking for a sustainable lifestyle. I asked myself: "What can I do consistently for the next year?" Not "What will give me the fastest results?"

The answer was small, manageable changes I could maintain even on bad days:

1. Short workouts I could do at home during nap time

2. Simple meals that the whole family could eat

3. Walking—lots of walking, often with a baby strapped to me

4. Sleep when I could get it, not perfect sleep, just more than I was getting

5. Grace for myself when things didn't go as planned

What Actually Worked

Movement That Fit My Life

I stopped trying to find time for exercise and started integrating it into my existing routine. Squats while making breakfast. Lunges down the hallway. Dance parties with the kids. These moments added up.

I committed to three 15-20 minute workouts per week, no matter what. Some weeks I did more. Some weeks, those three sessions were all I could manage. Both were okay.

Eating for Energy, Not Deprivation

I threw out the diet mentality and focused on nutrition that would give me energy to keep up with my kids. More protein. More vegetables. Enough carbs to fuel my body. Treats when I wanted them, without guilt.

The key was planning. Sunday meal prep became my secret weapon. Spending two hours on Sunday meant healthy food was always available, even when I was too tired to cook.

Mindset Shifts

This was the hardest part, but maybe the most important:

I stopped waiting to be "good enough" to start. I was good enough exactly as I was.

I celebrated small wins. Lost 1kg? That's amazing. Did a workout even though I was tired? Victory.

I stopped comparing my chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20.

I learned that rest is part of fitness, not the opposite of it.

The Results (Honest Version)

It took me two years to lose 30kg. Not two months. Two years. There were plateaus that lasted months. There were times I gained weight back. There were weeks I barely moved and ate my feelings.

But I kept going. Not perfectly—consistently.

Today, I'm stronger than I was before I had children. I can run with my kids. I can pick them all up. I look in the mirror and see someone I recognize—and like. But more than the physical transformation, I found my energy again. My confidence. My joy.

Why I Became a Coach

I started Fit4xMom because I know I'm not special. I'm not genetically gifted or unusually disciplined. I'm just a mom who figured out what works—and what doesn't—through years of trial and error.

Every woman I coach, I see myself in her. The exhaustion. The frustration. The desire to feel like herself again. I know that feeling intimately, and I know the way out.

Your Story Isn't Over

If you're reading this feeling like I felt on that playground bench—tired, disconnected from your body, wondering if you'll ever feel like yourself again—I want you to know something: You can. Not overnight. Not through some miracle program. But through consistent, sustainable action and a whole lot of self-compassion.

Your body gave you children. It stretched, it grew, it worked miracles. Now it's time to give something back to it—not punishment, but care. Not restriction, but nourishment. Not perfection, but progress.
